14 to Join Women's Track & Field/Cross Country for 2017-18

HANOVER, N.H. — The Marjorie and Herbert Chase '30 Head Coach of Women’s Track & Field Sandy Ford-Centonze and her staff have announced the incoming student-athletes who will make up the program’s Class of 2021. 

Fourteen individuals will join the Big Green cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field programs this year. 

Here is a brief overview of some of those incoming student-athletes set to make their Dartmouth debuts in 2017-18: 

Olivia Goodwin
Goodwin won the Emerging Elite Division of the Girl's Pole Vault at 2017 New Balance Indoor Nationals as well as the 2017 North Carolina 4A State title in the event. Holds a personal best of 12-7.0 in the pole vault. She also performs at a high level in the hurdles and long jump, events where she holds personal bests of 14.64 and 18-2.0, respectively.   

Camille Landon
Landon won the high jump at the 2017 Montana State AA-B Championship with a jump of 5-8.0 and is a three-time Montana State Champion in the high jump. She also finished fifth in the long jump at the state meet and holds a personal best of 17-6.0 in the event. 

Kathryn Laskoski
Laskoski was fifth at the New York State meet with a time of 55.77 and sixth at the New York Federation State Championship by running a time of 55.48. Kate also qualified and ran at the Canadian Juniors with her performance. 

Lily Lockhart
A two-sport athlete at Delta High School in Delta, Colorado, Lockhart was a dominant track & field competitor as well as a very talented softball player. She led all softball players in Colorado in home runs last year, finishing her career with 52.  She will be a strong addition to our throws squad with personal bests of 143-3.0 in the discus and 43-2.25 in the shot put. 

Samantha Stevens
Stevens is from Shelton High School in Connecticut where she was the 2016 state champion in both the shot put and the discus. The coaching staff expects her to be a great addition to the throws group with personal bests of 43-5.50 in the shot put and 130-00 in the discus in addition to being a promising competitor in the weight and hammer throws.   

Anna DiMarcello 
One of the top runners out of New Jersey, DiMarcello had three top-five finishes at the New Jersey Meet of Champions. She competes in the 800m (PR: 2:13.79) and 1600m (4:56.28), while also a top cross country runner, finishing ninth at the NJ Meet of Champions. It was there at the Meet of Champions that she helped lead her team to an automatic berth to Nike Cross Nationals.  

Isabelle Giordano
Primarily an 800m and 1000m runner, Giordano joins the track and cross country teams this year. She finished in the top five at the state meet twice in the 1000m indoors, finishing as high as third, and twice in the 800m outdoors. In her first year of running cross country, Giordano helped her team to a seventh-place finish at the Massachusetts state meet. 

Ella Ketchum
Ketchum qualified for the New Balance Outdoor Nationals last year, finishing fifth in the two-mile race. A New York State Association of Independent Schools outdoor state champion in the1500m and 3000m. She PR’d in the 3200m in 10:30.20 and the 1500m in 4:33.52.

Glennis Murphy
As a senior, Murphy was the California CIF D3 State Champion in cross country, becoming the first girl in Redwood High School history to take home the crown. She would go on to claim 28th at Nike Cross Nationals in Oregon in the following weeks. In total, she was named her league’s Runner of the Year three times during her high school career. During outdoor season, she would take second in the 3000m at the Stanford Invitational.
