Hometown: Phoenix, Ariz. Major: Master of Engineering Management, Thayer School of EngineeringStephanie Garrison enrolled at Thayer School of Engineering after earning her undergraduate degree—a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of California, San Diego. At Thayer, she received a George C.A. "Gus" Conrades Distinguished Fellowship, awarded to students who demonstrate leadership potential; completed an entrepreneurial project as part of the fellowship; was co-president of the Master of Engineering Management Council and a member of the Thayer Council; and held a corporate engineering internship with Covidien, a global provider of health-care technology and supplies. Garrison completed her M.E.M. requirements in January and has been working since then as an operations quality engineer at Covidien's Irvine, Calif., facility.Marshals are carefully selected by fellow students for their citizenship, enthusiasm, integrity, and positive impact on others. The marshals carry batons engraved with their names as they lead their classmates to the Green during the Commencement academic procession.
