Dartmouth 2014 Student Marshal Jessica Womack ’14

Hometown: New Orleans, La. Major: Art historyEarly in her time at Dartmouth, Jessica Womack was offered an internship at the Hood Museum of Art, during which she helped procure a donation that led to an exhibition on Dartmouth's artist-in-residence program. She has since studied in Rome with art history's Foreign Study Program, interned at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and received the 2014 Art History Department Award. In addition, as a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Research Fellow, she did research in the Dominican Republic and Miami and wrote a senior thesis on Cuban art. She was also the treasurer of her sorority and worked as a Collis Center building manager, an undergraduate adviser, and an Admissions Office senior interviewer. After graduation, Womack will be a curatorial intern at the Hood.Marshals are carefully selected by fellow students for their citizenship, enthusiasm, integrity, and positive impact on others. The marshals carry batons engraved with their names as they lead their classmates to the Green during the Commencement academic procession.
