Pompallier Mission“This was on our second group adventure to the Bay of Islands in the North Island of New Zealand. We visited the Pompallier Mission, a tannery and printer that has survived since its inception in 1842. The Mission offered us unique insight on the history of French Catholic missionaries in British colonial times in the affectionately named ‘Hellhole of the Pacific.’ ”—Kathleen Li ’17, Anthropology/Linguistics FSP, New Zealand, winter 2016Stay connected to Dartmouth: Facebook | Twitter | YouTube | Google+ | Instagram
