Growing a Miracle of Nature at the Dartmouth Organic Farm

Over the course of a growing season, Poli Sierra-Long ’19 planted and harvested a squash variety once thought to be extinct. An archaeological dig uncovered seeds from the species in 2008, and eventually second-generation seeds made their way into Sierra-Long’s hands. She talks about how she came across the seeds and about the process of planting them at the organic farm.
